Progress made.

Key was to use CS4236 driver and add options command in /etc/modprobe.d/sound
file, also isapnp=0 is needed, and ignore the CS4610 PCI interface.

With that the Yast Hardware and Sound Test pass.

Kaffine works, but in the release of SUSE Pro KsCD does not. Reads cd data
acts like it playing cd only no sound. So, either KsCD doesn't digitize CD
sound (i.e., no analog sound cable between CD drive and sound card.)

KsCD worked in 9.0 of SuSE Pro so, I'm still digging into to that.

If anyone has ideas I'm all ears on the KsCD and whether or not Thinkpad
600e's use analog or digital interface to play audio CD's.
