I have such a beast here, and have been happily running SuSE on it for many 
years. Everything works right out of the box (although I have not had a need 
for sleep or hibernate so I have not had much experience with those). 

I remember something in the older distros having to do with a thinkpad-sound 
module, but other then that all the hardware was supported.
