[ltp] T4x and classical docking station?

Hei,

has anyone ever tried to plug a T4x series notebook to a 2631 type
docking station?

Just got my new little baby and am shocked by the prices for the full
dock ii. So i wandered... The new dock is supposed to be compatible to
the old models, so voltage and pin layouts should be the same, shouldn't
they? So maybe IBM just classifies the 2631 type of dock to be
incompatible, because it doesn't support all the native features of the
newer models?

Any experience with this? Would be great if i could safe that lots of
money.
