[ltp] Modem AC'97 / Floppy disk Info for a Newbie

Thanks for the help Mark, but I still can't use the modem, everytime I 
try to dial-up the process hangs and I have to kill it.
I have kernel 2.4 with alsa.
After the installation, and running the tip you suggestedin lsmod I can 
see two modules loaded related to the modem: agrserial and agrmodem 
[agrserial].
But the modem hardware doesn't seem to be is not recognized; how can I 
be sure about that?  I use a GUI tool in fedora for that and, related to 
Network, it just finds the Ethernet card.
Which device corresponds to the modem: /dev/modem? /dev/ttyS2 - being 
COM3 in windows? /dev/ttyS14 as it is coded in the script 
/etc/init.d/agr_softmodem ? Are these linked somehow?
Would it be better if I compile the source of this drive?

Sorry for so many question marks.... I really appreciate your help.
