[ltp] T41 cpufreqd issue

hi,

Your Problem ist the Kernel, you have to choose at least 2.4.24 for better cpufreqd support. But the best decision would be to use the newest 2.6 kernel(2.6.6 since 2 days out). The new Kernel has the best support for APM and cpufreqd especially. ACPI doesn't work under linux on thinkpad, blame IBM for this(yes they are work arounds in the kernel for bad IBM bios and other). I've seen a lot of Fujitsu-Siemens, Acer, Samsung, HP and other running ACPI with almost all ACPI features.

I only use the cpufreqd driver for the pentium-m and powernowd(my favourite). With this combination I run best. To take the cpu to 200Mhz down makes no sense, because there is no powersave under the lowest cpu frequenz, which is given by intel. Lower Mhz will only slow down your system and have no sense at all.

But this are only my 2 cent to this discussion ...
