Uh ... I'm confused. I looked up what C2 and C3 are, and can't figure 
out how or if I might get my machine into those states. What I do know, 
all using ACPI and Linux:

    * big battery:
          o 5 hours of operation time
          o burns 6% per hour while in memory suspend
    * standard battery:
          o 3 hours of operation
          o burns 10% per hour while in memory suspend
    * suspend to disk does not work in linux
    * "standby" mode appears to do nothing at all
    * I've never used Windows for 5 hours, so I have no idea :)

I second James Knott's comment: this big blob is annoying, and I can't 
figure out what it is for.
