Ok, i tried this without much success.

But i also tried a different thing which lead to more clues...

I switched the primary display in the bios to be driven by the PCI
device. After that the single head RADEON 9000 configuration worked
(labeled Test in my config).

However, trying dual head still hanged the system.

I think that where the Xorg.log file ends really doesn't matter in this
case since it seems that cause of the crash xorg doesn't even manage to
finish writing to the log.

Also, i will have to use AGP as primary because the Windows drivers seem
to depend on that (windows brings a bluescreen on bootup when i boot
with PCI primary).

However, all this makes me think that xorg has some trouble with the PCI
scanning with my configs. This thought is undermined by that i saw some
reconfiguring of buffer ranges in the logs sometimes and also this
strange line of truncating the video bios. Also it really seems to crash
the whole system, why else would the wireless led go to constant on or
off.

Plus i tried it with different console framebuffer drivers without any
success either.

Does this eventually bring up more ideas in somebodys head?

Thx for the reasonanle sounding hint anyway...
André.
