As Joel wrote: Plug in the USB key, boot the DSL Live CD, right click on
desktop and select Apps/Tools/Install to USB pendrive, select sda1 as
target. That's it.

My USB key wasn't able to boot, so I had to use a Dell tool to prepare the
USB key. I found a pointer to that tool in the forum. I tried a HP tool
which didn't work before, BTW. Now it boots on two different computers but
not on my thinkpad.
