The problem with the 600E is deals with a flawed design for heat 
transfer.  If you expose any battery to heat for a long enough time it 
will dry out.  The LiOn battery also has a heat sensitive interruptor 
that would drop all power, almost permentantly, if the battery became 
'overheated'.  Combine these, and this is why the 600 series battery 
would appear to fail prematurely.  An external battery is a solution, 
mostly expensive.  Looks like you found a good solution to the 
problem.    Let's hope that Best Buy does not sell out of them too fast 
so that I can get one as it appears the battery should work on both my 
600E and my A22p.
