I recently did the same search for a friend.
For the 2378 or 2379, The memory you want to use to expand your T42 is:
DDR2700 200-pin unbuffered No-ECC SO-DIMM  


Another vendor who might do marginally better than newEgg is
Memory-UP.com.  I've never dealt with them, though.
