I have experience with Vonage and Lingo. Both sent a little box with
ethernet and telephone connectors. It works a little like a NAT router
thing: it asks for a DHCP address through one port, then offers a DHCP
address and connectivity to machines on the other port. The instructions
say to link it directly to your cable modem or whatever, and have your
other machines sit behind it. But, both boxes work okay for me sitting
behind my NAT and firewall, not providing connectivity to any machines but
instead being among the machines behind the firewall.
