Boris,

Indeed you did. Don't know how that one slipped by.

I am using ubuntu's 2.6.8.1 kernel. I spoke to one of the developers
recently and he said they used the "latest" acpi patches.

I am not too worried. Apparently a good deal of the ubuntu team has x40s
and I just pointed two of them to ibm-acpi. One is making a
thinkpad-x40-support package with /etc/acpi scripts. I pointed him to
ibm-acpi so maybe it will make its way into ubuntu officially.

He hasn't gotten his docking station yet so he hasn't tried it out. I
hope that it will get to the point where everything works magically with
the standard ubuntu packages.

thanks again. i'll keep you updated.

btw -- the Debian.src.changlog file in the kernel source directory says
that acpi is "patch 20040826 (Intel)."

Again -- any steps/recommendations? And what laptop do you happen to
have? Do you have a dock?

Thanks!

david
