Hi,

I tried again to suspend to ram.

following configuration:

IBM R40 2722 5MG
kernel-2.6.8.1
patched with

software-suspend-2.0.0.104-for-2.6.8.1.tar.bz2
acpi-20040816-26-stable-release.diff.bz2

kernel-config included
(no custom dsdt)

after compiling and installing new kernel, there was no failure message
=3D66rom ACPI in dmesg.

I changed to root console.
echo "mem" >/sys/power/state

It gives a beep, after some second a softer beep and it comes up again,
with the failure message,( I included debugging in the suspend2 section
of kernel , ofcause)
it says, device=3D20
0000:00:1d.7 makes a problem.

lspci says , that's my ehci-host.

I "rmmod" that module out
and tried again.

Success!

Woke up again, as nothing had happened.

(The Suspend to Disk problem was solved before)

For german readers: Linux/user 11/04 has an article about the theme.

I have a beer now, because it was not my first try, to solve the
problem.

Cheers

Ronald Hitz
