[ltp] TP R32 LCD goes blank, won't come back

I've been experiencing an intermittent problem on my TP R32 running
Fedora Core 1/Kernel 2.4.22-1.2188 with the radeon driver.

The LCD screen randomly goes dark.  It happens randomly, even when I am
in the middle of something, so it's not the APM timer.  Nothing I can do
will get it back (I tried all the Fn+ keys, and many other key combos). 
The backlight and display both shut off, so I can't see anything. 
However, I can ssh into the machine, so I know it's working.

Is there a command line program I can run to get the LCD to turn on
again?  Has anyone else experienced this?
