Ok, so it fools me... ;)

The nice quoting habit was obviously just a display problem which is not
reflected in the actual mail.

However, i figured that it was because of gtkhtml 3.3.0. So, just to
share my littlebit of freshly gained wisdom: stick with gtkhtml 3.2.1,
as recommended by the gnome guys.
