[ltp] (t41p, 2.6.8.1, debian) Freezing when echo to /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_max_freq

Hi,

I am using Debian sarge on a T41p with kernel 2.8.6.1. I have the
(good or bad, you decide) habit to update/upgrade on a regular
basis. Up to now, everything was working fine, but just today I can
not echo to /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/cpuinfo_max_freq
anymore. If I do it, either as a simpler user or root, the echo
command get frozen, and has to be killed (it can be killed, though).

The weird part is that this happens with the same kernel that has been
working for weeks, and even if I kill all daemons around (cpufreqd,
acpid, ... and even some which are obviously innocent in that affaire,
like sshd, sdpd, etc.)

I thought that doing such an echo was involving basically /bin/echo
and the kernel. What can have changed that matters ?

Cheers,
