Hi,
I have tried out VMWare a while ago and it is pretty impressive how good =
it works with linux.

there are a number of drivers that you can download from the IBM =
website. They might add the features that you are asking for.

cheers,
vok

Hi,

does anyone know whether the different tools on Windows accessing the=20
Thinkpad functions (Access Thinkpad) work in VMWare. For some minor=20
jobs I need a Windows installation. But since I have a lot of Linux=20
tools I use more regularly, I don't want to reboot to use Windows.

Thus, while I was thinking about installing VMWare, this question came=20
to my mind whether it is possible to use these tools to configure the=20
Thinkpad. In my knowledge, VMWare emulates a generic computer which=20
would mean that it is not possible to use special devices (and the=20
software to access these devices or functions).

Regards,
Matthias
