[ltp] Slightly confused about ACPI S3 sleep powerdrain and radeon patches

Hello,

I am slightly confused about the patches to apply to remove the powerdrain
with radeon chipsets. Thanks to many posts on this list I managed to get
everything working with kernel 2.6.11-rc2 on my R51 (1829-9MG) and posted my
method on <http://www.jenny-and-jp.org/index.php?page=thinkpadr51>

However, I'd like to upgrade my kernel to 2.6.11.6 but I can't actually do it.

	- the patches i originally used do not apply with 2.6.11.6 (not surprising)
	- the radeon patch from Theodore Ts'o
(<http://mailman.linux-thinkpad.org/pipermail/linux-thinkpad/2005-March/025088.html>)
applies cleanly, the kernel compiles fine but the system does not want to
wake up from Suspend to RAM (and yes, I have acpi_sleep=s3_bios and no local
APIC)
	- the patch from <http://bugme.osdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3022> applies
cleanly, the system can suspend to RAM and resume well but the powerdrain is
still there, as shown by the sleep script:

Wed Apr 13 17:47:25 BST 2005
before: 45670 mWh
after: 26910 mWh
diff: -18760 mWh
seconds: 54771 sec
result: -1233 mW
Your model seems to be affected.

Any idea what to try next? In particular:

a) where can i find a recent radeon powerdrain patch?
b) should i be patching ACPI too? I seem to remember people mentioning one
ACPI patch before the radeon patch

Until then, I am back with 2.6.11-rc2

Many thanks,

JP
