The only time I've had my T43p overheat enough to shut down was when it
was sitting on a carpet, running at full speed (2.13 ghz), and using the
processor heavily. With proper ventilation, temp stays at 87-89 when
compiling at full speed. The fan speed seems to go up when it hits 89,
then stay up until it gets down to something lower (haven't noticed the
number, it's less than 86). Idling at full speed gives me about 67
degrees, compared to 55 scaled all the way down.
