[ltp] Fullscreen mode in games

Hello, I've having a problem with full-screen mode in games (any game 
i've tried so far).

The problem is, once I choose to go full screen, the graphics and 
everything remain the same size they were before,

while the background is filled with black (thus it captures the entire 
screen, but the graphics remain the same size).

I had to reinstall my system not too long ago, before the 
re-installation fullscreen mode worked fine ..

I am running ubuntu 5.04.

Any ideas how can i solve this issue ?
