[ltp] Fan always on problem... does it happen on R52 with the Intel Media Gr

Thanks all for the help with that. I've seen the script that takes
control of the fan but as far as I've understood, it only works in
battery mode, but when you're on AC, the fan gets back to the default
behaviour. I'm going to work most of the time on AC so that wouldn't
help much, I'm interested in stopping the fan to avoid computer noise,
not to save batteries.

Anyway, when the fan is on, does it make much noise, or just as any
common laptop? Is it the same on Windows or is a problem with Linux?

Being a Linux newbie I'm quite scared when it comes to patches and scripts.=
..

So... I think I will not buy this laptop, and instead I will get a
Dell Inspiron 6000. It's similar to the R52 on the processor and
graphics card, but for the same price I'll get also a DVD recorder and
1 Gb RAM... I've tested this laptop and the fan turns on quite
frequently but is very silent, you wouldn't hear it unless you went to
a very silent room.

I prefer IBM to Dell but I won't buy a computer with a known problem,
that is not recognised as a problem by the manufacturer...
