I was about to send it a week ago, but I installed Mandriva 2006 (kernel
2.6.12.12) and that's what happened. (Not that my distro is to blame.)

I have the AMBIT Mini PCI Soft Modem (IDENT=AGERE; PCIDEV=11c1:0449;
Vendor=11c1) on my T23 (2647-4MG) running on AFAIK the most recent
Lucent driver (8.31a10) that I source-compile for every new kernel since
2.4.21 until the Mandrake LE2005's stock 2.6.11-6mdk. The last kernel
for which the driver usable was the 2.6.12.2 *without* the acpi20050729
patch. With the acpi patch as well as with kernel 2.6.13 (presumably
also with the latest version I haven't tested to date)
The driver compiles as normal, but the modules cannot be loaded for the
following:
* 2.6.12.2 with acpi20050729 patch
* 2.6.12.12-mdk (from Mandriva 2006.0)
* plain-vanilla 2.6.13 or 2.6.14

I got this message upon `autoload':

insmod /lib/modules/2.6.12.2/extra/lt_modem.ko
WARNING: Error inserting lt_modem
(/lib/modules/2.6.12.2/extra/lt_modem.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or
unknown parameter (see dmesg)
insmod /lib/modules/2.6.12.2/extra/lt_serial.ko
FATAL: Error inserting lt_serial
(/lib/modules/2.6.12.2/extra/lt_serial.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or
unknown parameter (see dmesg)

Whereas "dmesg" shows:

lt_modem: Unknown symbol inter_module_get
lt_serial: Unknown symbol inter_module_get
lt_serial: Unknown symbol ltmodemDependency

What's wrong? I guess that something from the acpi patch is to blame,
but I'm a lame C programmer, let alone kernel programmer. Any
pointers/fixes would be very appreciated as I rely upon the very modem
for communication as of today.

If there's any more usable information I could provide feel free to ask.

Regards
