Hello,

@Ulrich: Thank you for the links.

The strange thing is that the memory stick works well under Win XP. It's
only under Linux (Ubuntu) that these strange phenomenons occur. So it
cannot be a hardware error in my opinion.

dmesg produces:
usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 16
usb 4-4: device descriptor read/64, error -71
usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 24
usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 36
usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 38
usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 91
usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 100
usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 125
usb 4-4: device descriptor read/64, error -71

Regards, Mathias
