[ltp] Kernel Panic and KDE Apps not working after undocking

I have a strange problem now...
I've been running my T42p docked using Xinerama for the past three
months, and everything has been great.
Well, I finally got out of the house for once ;-)

I'm on a trip to Japan now, and the first time I tried to boot the PC, I
got a kernel panic. Something about an interrupt conflict. I traced
the problem to acpi and the madwifi drivers. I just wonder why it only
happens when undocked? The panic occurs when you send or receive over
the wireless link, so you can have the ath_hal module inserted but as
soon as you associate with an access point you get a kernel panic, every
time. I've tried searching the madwifi list and installing the latest
CVS, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone ever experienced this?
Right now, I've disable the wireless and it works OK. BTW, this problem
occurs in single user mode too.

My second problem is bigger. Now that I'm not docked, I've disabled
Xinerama in my xorg.conf. It seems that KDE doesn't like this at all.
No KDE apps will run. I can run gnome apps, but not KDE apps. I think
there are some leftover configuration info in some KDE config files that
refer to Xinerama and maybe that's causing it. I tried:
grep Xinerama ~/.kde/config/*
and changed to "false" all references to Xinerama (mostly in
kdeglobals). This hasn't helped. I searched the RedHat and KDE mailing
lists but found nothing. Can anyone help with this?

Perhaps I should just leave Xinerama on, but some apps launch on the
nonexisting screen. I previous post on this list by Diego Zamboni
mentioned using the desktop pager in KDE to move the windows...I'm not
familiar with the desktop pager, can you walk me through the process?
