Hello,

I am using the T42 with the ThinkPad Port Replicator II and am having
trouble getting the serial port to work (I need it for my Palm Pilot
dock).

I enabled the port in BIOS.

When I boot I get a boot message saying I have ttyS0 at I/O 0x3F8 (irq=4)
and it's a NS 16550A. Setserial tells me:

/dev/ttyS0, Line 0, UART: 16550A, Port: 0x03f8, IRQ: 4
        Baud_base: 921600, close_delay: 5000, divisor: 0
        closing_wait: 37856
        Flags: spd_normal skip_test

When I connect the Palm in its dock and try to sync using Jpilot, I get
the following:

****************************************
 Syncing on device /dev/ttyS0
 Press the HotSync button now
****************************************
pi_bind Invalid argument
Check your serial port and settings
Exiting with status SYNC_ERROR_BIND
Finished

The dock on another computer running Jpilot syncs OK.

Does this ring any bells with anyone?

Dave
