Arn't most of the computer parts made in China these days anyway? What
exactly does Uncle Sam thing China is going to steal!

The whole point of the sell off for IBM was to sell to a company in China,
they could have sold PC division for more, but for markets in China you need
a partner, and this would give IBM a powerful one, at the cost of an assist
which is losing IBM money. Win Win for IBM, selling to an American company
would increase the size of a competitor company and not open a new market
for IBM, kind of a Lose, with a little WIN for the cash.
