I have to agree to Graziano, you shouldn't give up. You have the
strangest problems here and your posts are a value in themselves.

Good, stand up, clear the dirt from your trousers and start walking
on! ;-)

Don't know. The thing is...nobody of us has a troublefree notebook. I
have a T41p which has no power drain, but has a FireGL T2 which doesn't
have 3D support through xorg and fglrx still doesn't seem to be an
option.

I also got a quite expensive full docking station which holds a PCI
radeon 9000 on the DVI connector of which is connected a NEC 21" TFT
display that lets the docking station look cheap. Under Linux the nice
huge screen remains black since the xorg drivers don't support DVI
throughput dualhead and any try to setup a config which would use the
PCI 9000 would totally crash my system.

So every now and then i send an unechoed mail to this list if anyone
might know something about it and keep on waiting for xorg updates.

So, keep on trying or wait a bit longer, i have the feeling that
progress in the power drain issue has been significantly speeding up.

Andr=E9.
