I recently bought my first laptop, a ThinkPad R51 1829-R6G:

So far, I'm very happy with it, it works almost flawlessly with Mandrake
10.1. It has 15" screen (1024x768), 3.5-4 hours from battery and wireless,
but I don't know about the docking station. 512KB RAM, 1600Hz Centrino,
60GB HD, ATI 7500... that's enough for my needs and maybe for yours, I got
it for 1500¤ (taxes included). It weights 3Kg and the temperature sits
around 40 degrees Celsius or less when idle and reaches 65-70 when
compiling a kernel.
