I don't think the patches will work against a gentoo kernel.

You have to use the 2.6.11-rc2 from vanilla(www.kernel.org).=20
I can tell you, that this works with all the patches listed below on
(gentoo ~X86) and (debian sid/sarge).

Do you use the right model name of your machine.

Try to emerge dmidecode and this will tell you, how your linux sees your
machine.
