It's simple.

type "lspci" in a console and that should tell you a lot.
in the ipw2200-source (ipw2200-1.0.4) there is a pci file. run it as ". 
pci" it will tell you if you have a 2100 or 2200 or 2915ABG, else you 
have something else and call IBM. ;-)
