 	I just tried here, and glxgears is giving me 496fps with the 
stock (in-xfree) ati driver. I have no need for games, so I don't need 
the 3D stuff provided by fglrx or the r300 drivers, with their added 
baggage of breaking suspend.

 	Everything here works flawlessly now, no complaints.
