In Ubuntu they do have different kernels. They have kernels for
different processors, but nothing like a kernel for a thinkpad.

BTW - I have everything working now on Ubuntu as I did on Fedora Core
3 with the 2.6.9  kernel.

I've also compiled the modules under thinkpad-source and have tpctl working=
.

I have compiled configure-thinkpad and now it's giving me the no
/dev/thinkpad exists.

It seems as though it wants a default location.=20

Any thoughts on where to put the module - e.g., /lib/modules/?
