 	Agreed, however.. its like measuring something by using the 
width of your fingernail as a ruler. As long as you use the same 
fingernail to measure two things, you can discern a difference 
(improvement or otherwise). That is why I was using glxgears in these 
cases, to see if my changes were having positive or negative affects.

 	Sure.. its crawling along at 7k/sec, so this should take about 
13 hours to download. This must be one enormous binary buried in here, 
or a LOT of source to build this benchmarking tool.
