Try modprobe cpufreq_powersave ; modprobe cpufreq_centrino; then if it
works, toy around with the parameters. These functions are normally =
enabled
in w=EDndows, and they keep your cpu cool.

I don't have a direct answer for you, but I can confirm that an R31 was
definitely hotter in Linux than in Windows.  I can also confirm that the =
T41
and T42 do not seem hotter when running Linux.
