Hello, I've got a T40 with radeon 7500 (dynamic clock scaling).
It is my understanding that fan activation is function of some (maybe
all?) of these temperatures, not just the first one.

This understanding is supported by the fact that my fan *usually*
stops when the CPU is at 43 degrees, but sometimes it stops only when
CPU temp reaches 30 degrees.
However, fan speed does not vary significantly with temperatures.

Have you tried laptop mode?
