For me (on a T22) ACPI was broken with 2.6.8, .9, and .10. With .11 it seems
to 'just work' (apart from the sound being dead after sleep).

This is using Debian stock kernels.

In that case I'd leave well alone :-)

apm with 2.4 kernels used to work very well - getting ACPI to work seems to
be a lot more sensitive/complicated.
