| When I failed, I had applied the patch to gentoo 2.6.10-r6 .. Gentoo
| doesn't patch the radeon driver, so the patch at least applies fine.

why don't you write us an ebuild for the patched gentoo-dev-sources and
submit it to this list once you're done.
i think here are some who'd like to use it

| That was with the .config I sent. It had "no problems" insofar it booted
| and started X. It then turned out that sound was gone, but that has
| mysteriously returned, as detailed in another thread. Unfortunately I'm
| still at square one regarding sleep (also in the "... sound's gone ..."
| thread).
