Looks like it's happened to my non-p T40 too - always been a fight
getting USB2 devices to respond with ehci_hcd, and sometimes they
just work at USB1 speeds - and now no devices are loaded - it sees
them being plugged in but says "maybe your USB cable is faulty?"
(I've tried 3).

So this is a common fault?

My bluetooth also acted erratically and has finally stopped working
at the same time as USB - it lights up but "hciconfig" shows no
interface.  It hangs Windows XP when turned on.  Is bluetooth
intimately connected with USB modules somehow?  It certainly seemed
to load them when it was working...
