[ltp] How does /proc/acpi/ibm/bay work

Hi folks,

I tried to use ibm-acpi with /proc/acpi/ibm/bay for hot plugging but it
seems to be limited to certain scenarios, at least it doesn't work for
me.

I did the following:

- run eject.sh as root, the bay light went off

- ejected the DVD-ROM drive (hdc)

- inserted a DVD/CDRW combo drive, the bay light goes on

- run rescan.sh as root

As soon as I access a disc in the burner (in this case: cdrecord
-atip), the system hangs, I have to reboot the machine.

Does anyone use /proc/acpi/ibm/bay and can write about his/her
experiences, especially what does work and what doesn't?

I use Linux 2.6.11 and ibm-acpi 0.10.

Regards,
Tino
