The mergedfb solution suits me much better, but I'd rather want to be
able to have my non rectangular Virtual Desktop from Xinerama back.
(in my case, a 1024x768 + 1280x1024 virtual desktop without scrolling
the smaller one).

My hardware is a ati radeon 7500 mobile, using xorg radeon driver.
Thomas Winischofer writes at
http://www.winischhofer.at/linuxsispart3.shtml, that he implemented
this in the sis version of MergedFB, so I wonder if it is included
also in the radeon version. Did anyone manage to setup this?
