As in Alt-Gr? You do know that this key is far more useful if you leave 
it alone! It allows you to do 2 things:

1)Many of the "8-bit" ASCII symbols, eg:

µ,º,ħ     (mu, degrees, h-bar)

2)Dead keys:

ALt-Gr +  [,],;,',#   and then eEaAoO etc give you

é Ê ò ç   etc  (the European accented characters)
