Suspend-and-resume from disk (to DRI-enabled X) works flawlessly on SUSE 
10 Pro on my Thinkpad R50P.

As a tip to others: ensure you rmmod the old fglrx module before 
upgrading/trying to use the new version, it struck me that this could 
easily be a problem for over-anxious upgraders!

I also commented vbetool and a dummy X startup in my suspend scripts, 
everything worked first time round afterwords.

Two years later, and ATI finally gives us an acceptable driver for 
notebooks. WOOHOO!
