The main problem are old discs which do not support AAM. These can do  
pretty much anything after receiving this command. But i don't think you  
have a 500 MB HD in you R50.

The second problem is the first generation of SATA-drives. Apparently  
there are some buggy firmwares in these. And i think the SATA <->  
PATA-Converter used in the R52 may be such a case.


Anyway: AAM only alters the sound the heads make while reading/writing.
