I am not sure.

My opinion:

with (standard) SpeedStep,
--when the notebook is connected to AC, it can only run into "maximum
perfomance mode" only.
--when notebook is powered by a battery, it can run in both "maxim
perfomance mode" and "power conservation mode". You can force a
particular mode with a software program.


with Advanced SpeedStep, notebook can run in both "maxim perfomance
mode" and "power conservation mode", when powered by battery, and when
powered by AC too.
You can force a particular mode with a software program.


Can anybody (with a T20, T21 or T22) confirm this, please?.


PS:
In my T23, it's true: you can select mode with battery and with AC.
