My x40 have intel graphic chipset and not a radeon.
in the next days I'll try to compile a new acpi kernel and to
configure some scripts to catch acpi event.

a(nother) question:
- it's better to use ibm-acpi drivers (the ones from the site) or the
drivers in the official kernel-tree?
