I'm not an expert, so please take all of this with the usual caveats...

Try mp3.com.  It's owned by Michael Robertson (of Lindows/Linspire fame).
They sell and distribute mp3s.

Re burning .wma to a CD:  Why not just "burn" an .iso image on your HD and
then rip from that?  You never have to touch a blank CD.

Personally, I play .wmas using kaffeine.  I googled around until I found the
appropriate plugins.  But I don't know if it will work for .wmas with DRM
turned on.  (I only play the random voice files that come to me from friends).

I also use SuSE 9.3
