[ltp] IBM three button mice?

A relative needs a USB mouse for his new T43. It should be a three
button mouse since many of his LINUX applications require frequent
operation of the middle mouse button. A scroll wheel is not that
important. Now I know that IBM/Lenovo offers mice that have middle
mouse button. However, I've some questions:

* Can anyone recommend one of these mice?

* Which one does have a reasonably large middle button?

* What about the 800 dpi models? I've read somewhere that a certain
800dpi mouse makes the mouse pointer move very fast under LINUX,
without a way of throttling. Is this an issue with the IBM mice? If
not, then the "Optical 3-Button ScrollPoint Mouse (800dpi) PS/2 & USB"
  could be the best selection:

  - Part Number: 31P7405

    05?OpenDocument>

Does its scroll button work under LINUX?

BTW: The 15" XGA display of the T43 is quite unevenly lit: The bottom is
noticeably brighter than the rest. Fortunately, this isn't an issue
here: The machine will only be used for office work and for web
browsing.
