Yes, that's what I mean, except that DRI is disabled on your system
for some other reason... Maybe the dri module isn't being loaded in
your xorg.conf file.

Which I've had before,  due to exactly what it says (radeon loading
before intel_agp). I'm going to play a bit & see what I can get it to
