This is normal behavior for Li-Ion batteries, in the final "capping
off" phase of charging. BTW, this phase wears down the battery and
shortens its life. If you don't need a 100% charge,  lower the
stop-charge threshold using tp_smapi.

The battery monitor is being naive and/or silly.
