Yep, I'm trying a net install with boot, root, and net floppies on the
Thinkpad 760e with no CD-ROM. It only has 40 MB of memory, so the
install went into low-memory mode.

I have failed to connect to the DHCP server to obtain an IP address.
Another Windows laptop has been able to connect, and give me the IP
address, DNS, WINS, DHCP server, etc.

I noted the DHCP server address on the Windows laptop, and retried
autoconfiguration after
inputting the IP address for the DHCP server on the Thinkpad. No luck.

I've also tried several PCMCIA cards, but all of them are 10/100.
I've used 16 and 32 bit cards, too. I believe these cards are
working and functional, but I haven't tried them on other computers.

I've also used the noapic and nolapic parameters and tried floppy=thinkpad

The only thing I can consider is to use the same Ethernet PCMCIA card
I used to successfully install Debian on a newer Dell laptop (but
still rather old and slow).

Anything else I can try? Thanks for reading.
